Cosmetics entering Thailand require obtaining Thai cosmetics certification, and the general process is as follows:
1. Prepare the information and documents for cosmetics, including application forms, product descriptions, ingredient lists, labels, etc.
2. Apply for Thai cosmetics registration, submit the application form and relevant documents.
3. The Thai FDA will review the application, including product formula, labeling, ingredients, etc.
4. After passing the review, the applicant needs to pay fees and obtain a cosmetic registration certificate.
5. The registration certificate is valid for 3 years and needs to be reapplied upon expiration.
Some precautions include:
1. Cosmetic formula design needs to comply with the requirements of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, including the prohibition, restriction, and approved list of raw materials.
2. There are mandatory labeling contents on cosmetic labels that need to be executed accordingly. Some countries require the use of local languages such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. for labeling certain contents on the label.
3. Product notification needs to be carried out by a locally registered enterprise, which serves as the notification holder. Some countries require the notification holder to take responsibility for the quality and safety of the product.
4. The Product Information File (PIF) needs to be prepared in advance and provided during official on-site inspections. The safety assessment report also needs to be issued by qualified safety assessors.
